A double-feature of the gods Athena and Apollo.
Side was an ancient city on the eastern part of the Pamphylian coast. Founded by Greek settlers from Kyme, Aeolia, its coins were minted in honour of Athena, the patroness god of their city. The people of Side abandoned the Greek language for one of their own. The inscriptions on this coin are in their unique language, and to date, are yet to be successfully deciphered.
