Potentially unlisted, this coin appears to be an ancient eastern imitation of the coins of Alexander the Great. Unusual for an eastern imitation, the style of the coin is refined enough that one could mistake it for one minted at Amphipolis. Alexander the Great requires no introduction. One of the most influential people of all time, his legacy has helped shape the world we live in today. The coins of Alexander the Great continued to be issued in his honour long after his short but fully-lived life. They depict Alexander as Hercules, complete with nemean lionskin headdress on the obverse. On the reverse, the inscription reads ALEΞANDROU, which means "of Alexander".
