Information: Apparently unique and unpublished. Both SNG ANS and the Drama Hoard list out those examples which have a letter on the obverse. However both make no mention of this in relation to examples listed with the same control mark as this coin, indicating that the authors were unaware or dismissed the possibility of, a letter on the obverse. We have therefore reattributed this coin as a variant to those in SNG ANS and the Drama Hoard. There does not appear to be another example in all standard references for the bronze coinage of Philip II, online auction archives, or the online collections of the American Numismatic Society and the British Museum. This coin is not currently for sale. Please contact us if you wish to discuss acquiring it.

These symbols and letters, known as control marks, were used to identify the officials responsible for a particular issue of coinage.
