General: Beautiful patina. Choice aVF, which is rare for Greek bronzes. Hieron III was the Greek Sicilian Tyrant of Syracuse. The story of Archimedes's discovery of the principle of displacement (leading him to famously jump out of his bath and run naked through Syracuse shouting "eureka") was reportedly instigated by Hieron tasking Archimedes to establish whether he had been cheated by a goldsmith who he had supplied gold to to create a crown.
