General: Phakion (or 'Phacium') is believed to have been an ancient city in Thessaly. Named after 'Φακος', meaning 'lentils', its exact location is still unknown today. Evidence that this city once existed is limited to literary sources and its bronze coinage. This coin is one of only 42, then known to Pappaevangelou.
