General: Servius Sulpicius Galba was Roman Emperor from 68-69 AD. Prior to becoming emperor, he served under 3 different emperors, Caligula, Claudius and Nero in a number of important positions, which included praetor, governor of Aquitaine, consul, and commander of the legions of Upper Germany. He ascended to the throne following Nero’s suicide. His rule did not last long and was the first of the Year of Four Emperors. In less than 6 months, his legions and the soldiers of Lower Germany turned against him following Galba (on poor advice) seizing the property of Roman citizen, disbanding the German legions and not paying Praetorians and soldiers.  He was killed by the Praetorians and Otho became emperor.
