General: Vespasian was Roman emperor from 69 to 79 AD. The beginning of his reign marked the end of the tumultuous period of leadership, which included the Year of Four Emperors, returning stability to the Roman Empire. Vespasian reformed the financial system and started large construction activities, most notably the Roman Colosseum, which was completed during the reign of his son Titus. This coin was minted during Vespasian's sixth consulship.
