General: Vespasian was Roman emperor from AD 69 to AD 79. The beginning of his reign marked the end of the tumultuous period of leadership, which included the Year of Four Emperors, returning stability to the Roman Empire. Vespasian reformed the financial system and started large construction activities, most notably the Roman Colosseum, which was completed during the reign of his son Titus.
